Basalt/Carbon hybrid fabric is beneficial when looking for a composite material for high impact resistance. Our fabric is compatible with epoxy/polyurethane resins.
Basalt fabrics are typically used in place of fiberglass or carbon fiber and are suited for applications requiring high mechanical strength. Basalt fabrics regularly outperform standard E-glass in demanding applications and are close in performance to specialty fibers like S-glass, carbon, and chemical resistant glass but at a fraction of the cost.
Tensile Strength: 3100 MPa, Tensile Modulus: 88-92 GPa, Elongation: 3.5%
Carbon fiber delivers outstanding stiffness and strength, while basalt fiber provides excellent toughness and durability. Combining the two creates a versatile reinforcement material for applications where performance and resilience are both important.
Carbon Fiber 3K, 620 KSi, 37 MSi, 1.7% Elongation

When purchasing multiple yards of the same fabric you will receive one continuous length of that material. It will be rolled, covered in plastic, and shipped in a cardboard tube to keep the fabric in its first quality condition.
