About Unidirectional Carbon Fiber:
Unlike woven fabrics, unidirectional carbon fiber features no gaps between fibers and no cross-weave that divides tensile strength. All fibers lay flat and parallel in one direction, providing a concentrated density that maximizes longitudinal tensile strength — similar to the grain strength in wood.
Unidirectional fabrics are ideal for applications requiring strength in a single direction, but they can also be layered at varying angles during layup to achieve multi-directional reinforcement without sacrificing stiffness.
About ZERO® Fabric:
ZERO® is a patented, non-woven unidirectional carbon fiber fabric with less than 3% binder material, applied to only one side. This eliminates virtually all fiber crimping, preserving the material's full tensile potential and performance.
